Requirements
- Experience: 1 month(s)
- One (1) month of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed.
- Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record.
- Be able to lift up to 60 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
- Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed, grain, forage to cattle in the feedlot
- Maintain records on animals
- Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries
- Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate
- Transfer livestock from one location to another
- Inspect, maintain, prepare, weld, and repair equipment
- Check cows and calves daily to monitor for hypothermia (body temperature under 100 degrees) and provide colostrum as necessary
- Clean corrals
- Push, pile, and spread manure which won’t decompose in cold winter temperatures. Speak and understand English.
